Bird : Kingfisher

  Bird: Kingfisher

 white-throated kingfisher

The white-throated kingfisher (Halcyon smyrnensis) also known as the white-breasted kingfisher or Smyrna kingfisher, is a tree kingfisher, widely distributed in Asia from Turkey east through the Indian subcontinent to the Philippines.

There are roughly 90 species of kingfisher. All have large heads, long, sharp, pointed bills, short legs, and stubby tails. Most species have bright plumage with little differences between the sexes. Most species are tropical in distribution, and a slight majority are found only in forests.

These are the one of the most beautiful bird which will surely steal your attention. Its a great feeling watching this bird ,the way it catches the fishes. I captured this picture when it was sitting on the drainage canal watching for her shot.within a flash, she jumped in lake and grabbed a fish. I was bit unlucky to capture that moment.

Indian Sparrow

When was the last time you noticed a sparrow in your window?

Rapid urbanisation and increasing pollution is spelling doom for the small ubiquitous sparrow, which was earlier found in large numbers in the city… the root cause of the disappearance of these birds is massive development work which leads to cutting of trees and mangroves, besides pollution that is troubling many other species also…

Eagle fly

Eagles love a the storm. When clouds gather, the eagles get excited. The eagle uses the storm s winds to lift it higher. Once it finds the wing of the storm, the eagle uses the raging storm to lift him above the clouds. This gives the eagle an opportunity to glide and rest its wings. In the meantime all the other birds hide in the leaves and branches of the trees. We can use the storms of life to rise to greater heights. Achievers relish challenges and use them profitably.
